Veterinary nurses and technologists take a front seat in supporting client education and tips on patient management for the pet owner. This is the reason for our brand new webinar series focusing on just that. Join Royal Canin Veterinarian Dr Chantelle McGowan as she kicks off this new series and covers the basics of diabetes in cats and dogs, including the importance of weight management as a wholistic approach to patient care. Our special guest nurse speaker Karen Lithgow, RVN, will demonstrate how to adapt these learnings in practical tips to start complimenting veterinary treatment plans with your very own vet nurse appointments in clinic.
I have spent close to years in veterinary care across the globe. Having initially trained and gained experience as a veterinary nurse in the UK, I developed advanced practical and clinical management abilities both in small and exotic zoo animal care on several continents. My resume chronicles my work in Singapore, Australia and the US as well as a Head Vet Nurse tenure at Cooper Vets in UK and at Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, New Zealand. I further developed my portfolio by owning and operating a cat only Veterinary Clinic. Time doing Neonatal Equine Intensive Care nursing and extensive nursing exposure in companion animal & teaching, I have a passion for developing and facilitating the role of the Veterinary Nurse within the practice setting. As director of my company, which is a form of Consultancy, together with associates working with veterinary teams to enhance performance systems and economic return by maximising the abilities of the whole team most especially the nursing support. I look forward to sharing with you the pivotal position veterinary nursing has to the overall excellence and sustainability of a healthy team.
